Not much to it, there ya go. Got some 30x9.5R15 Falken MT01 tires on some crap 15x6's. I’m digging the look, going to swap one of the rears to the front and check clearances. I suspect i’ll have to beat/cut the pinch weld to clear, but it may be too large overall. I think matching tires and wheels all around would be nice....
Unrelated to the new tires, I took it for a 90 mile spin to my office, and back, re aching 65 and 70mph at times. It drives shockingly well, though I do not have a lot of confidence (yet) in the rebuilt engine and un-rebuilt trans.

Neat bug.
I've always wanted one

It’s.. interesting. They are nearing 50 years old in many cases, so they have a plethora of issues. Thankfully , parts are plentiful, though quality parts are not. I’m drowning in Asian /Chinese made clone parts, but finding decent Brazilian or German parts is hard.

Go to VW shows and buy OEM parts. You can find plenty of NOS and used stuff if you look, and it will last longer.

That’s been my current plan. Not too many in my area, and quite frankly, most NOS stuff ends up being Brazilian or Mexican a lot in my region. Only a tiny step above EMPI to be honest.
